Kenya Trip Site

Hi I'm Niall Tuttiett, this site has been produced to promote my trip to Kenya.

I will traveling to the north west of Kenya near to the border with Uganda.

I will leave the UK early January and returning in late May.

The trip has been organised by

Africa & Asia Adventure

www.aventure.co.uk

I shall be teaching english, math in rural primary or secondary schools as well as coaching sports for 4months then a month free traveling which will include a weeks safari.

Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda

Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda have multi-racial societies of some 32 million, 29.5 million and 20 million respectively. Uganda and Kenya straddle the equator and their climates range from arid semi-desert in their north-eastern regions to pleasant temperate conditions around the Great Rift Valley. Kenya and Tanzania have tropical coastlines and Uganda has a similar tropical climate on the shores of Lake Victoria. Few areas of the world can boast such dramatic and contrasting scenery.

Fund Raising

My fund raising target for this trip is between £4,000 and £5,000, which includes:

  • Careful individual selection and placement
  • An orientation course on arrival
  • In-country support from experienced staff
  • All food and accommodation
  • Work expenses required during my project work attachment
  • All inclusive safari in Kenya and Uganda
  • Comprehensive health and personal effects insurance, including Flying Doctors membership
  • Uganda Visa

In addition to the above I intend to take sports equipment needed for the sports coaching, this will include a full football kit with 15 shirts (these could be used for either football, hockey cricket or rugby), coloured bibs, dribbling cones and hopefully lots more, fund raising will also cover shipping costs of this equipment.

Sponsored Cycle Ride

Saturday 29th July, I shall be completing a Round-the-Harbour Sponsored Cycle Ride a total distance of over 20 miles.

Starting at Portchester to Gosport ferry, ferry to Gunwharf Quays, then from Gunwharf back around to Portchester.

If you are able to help please contact me via my email feedtheyak2004@123mail.org

Update...

I have completed the sponsored cycle ride and has set a personal best time of 1 hour 12 minutes, excluding ferry crossing from Gosport.

Latest News...

On Saturday 4th November I completed my second Sponsored Cycle Ride around the same route, beating my previous personal best time by 2 minutes.

Sponsorship of this event was very well supported with almost £900 being raised by the Catholic Churches in Fareham alone.

Many thanks for all who have supported these events.
